Job Description

Senior Observability/DevOps Engineer migrating enterprise Datadog monitoring platforms for global IT services company. Automating observability across AWS and Kubernetes using Terraform and Datadog APIs.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute Datadog organization/account migration activities
  • Migrate monitors, dashboards, SLOs, log pipelines, indexes, archives, and retention configurations
  • Support migration of Datadog integrations, agents, API keys, RBAC, SAML/SSO, and SCIM configurations
  • Use the Datadog API, CLI, and Terraform Datadog Provider to automate migration activities
  • Validate migrated monitoring, observability, and security configurations before cutover
  • Support AWS and Kubernetes/EKS integrations
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure migration accuracy and operational readiness
  • Troubleshoot migration issues and support stabilization activities

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in Observability, DevOps, or Platform Engineering
  • 5+ years of hands-on Datadog implementation, administration, and migration experience
  • Proven experience with Datadog organization and account migrations, including parent/child and multi-organization environments
  • Strong experience with Datadog API, CLI, and Terraform Datadog Provider
  • Hands-on experience with Datadog monitors, dashboards, SLOs, Agents, APM, and distributed tracing
  • Experience with Datadog Log Management, including pipelines, indexes, archives, and retention configurations
  • Experience integrating Datadog with AWS, Kubernetes, and AWS EKS
  • Experience with RBAC, SAML/SSO, SCIM, and API/Application key management, including rotation and access controls
  • Experience with CI/CD and automation integrations
  • Datadog Certified Professional (nice to have)
  • Datadog Partner or consulting background (nice to have)
  • Enterprise observability architecture experience (nice to have)
  • Datadog Synthetics, Private Locations, and CSPM/security monitoring experience (nice to have)
  • PagerDuty, Slack, ServiceNow, and webhook integration experience (nice to have)
  • Experience validating monitoring parity in dual-running environments before cutover (nice to have)
