Job Description
Senior Billing Specialist overseeing the resolution of failed bills and claims. Working with a technology-enabled revenue cycle management provider for healthcare facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Works daily failed bills/claims on all systems including late charges, rebills and additional billing reports
- Reviews/Updates failed bills & claims on the host system and within billing vendor
- Works daily electronic submissions (or 277's) resolving claim issues
- Monitors daily claims errors and resolutions providing recommendations on systems fixes going forward
- Bills hardcopy claims attaching any needed documentation for payment
- Pulls EOB's and Medical Records as needed attaching to claims and mailing
- Contact patients, insurance, any third party for insurance information or any additional billing data
- Creates training documents/tests
- Train and educate staff, providing testing
- Work absentee staffing desk's
Requirements:
- 1 to 3 Years of experience
- High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent Experience
- 2 years of an accredited degree or equal experience
- CPB Certified
- Must have billing experience on multiple payers or a SME on one payer
- Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Must pass typing test of 35 words per minute (error adjusted)
- Must provide a mock training session for the interviewer(s)
