Job Description

Senior Product Designer shaping community, sharing, and habit-forming experiences for Acorns, a financial wellness app. Owning design from concept through launch for millions of savers.

Responsibilities:

  • Design engagement loops, sharing moments, and habit-forming mechanics that encourage saving and bring Acorns into households
  • Set the quality bar for the Community product, including micro-interactions, feel, and delight
  • Create a natural, trustworthy, and lively product experience for a diverse audience often new to investing
  • Own design end-to-end from early concept through shipped product
  • Work directly with the CEO, Senior Product Manager, and senior engineering team
  • Design social sharing mechanics and habit-forming experiences that drive organic growth
  • Translate ambiguous briefs into product directions
  • Collaborate with engineering and product to preserve design intent through production
  • Move quickly by building, shipping, and learning
  • Contribute to a scalable design system

Requirements:

  • Experience designing engagement or retention features at a social, gaming, or high-growth consumer app
  • Ability to demonstrate outcomes from engagement, retention, sharing, social proof, or habit-loop features
  • End-to-end product design experience covering discovery, concept, high-fidelity design, and shipped product
  • Ability to translate ambiguous briefs into clear, opinionated product directions
  • Strong attention to product details and ability to challenge implementations that fall short of design intent
  • Experience working on a small, cross-functional team with high ownership and low process overhead
  • Experience building or contributing to a scalable design system
  • Senior-level product design capability
  • U.S. employment eligibility verification through E-Verify
