Job Description

Senior Product Designer building scalable design systems for Moniepoint’s African fintech platform. Creating cross-platform components, design tokens, and documentation across Web, Android, and iOS.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain exceptionally high standards for layout, typography, colour, spacing, visual hierarchy, and digital finish across reusable elements
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable component libraries including buttons, inputs, cards, navigation, forms, and tables
  • Define interactive behaviors and state transitions such as hover, focus, disabled, loading, and mobile behaviors
  • Structure and maintain design tokens including colours, spacing, typography, border-radius, and shadows
  • Organize complex variants, properties, and components within Figma
  • Partner with engineering teams across Web, React, Flutter, Android, and iOS/Native app environments
  • Create comprehensive usage guidelines and documentation for component governance
  • Drive high adoption and efficiency so design and engineering teams accelerate product shipping
  • Ensure unified visual and interactive behavior across Web, Android, and iOS customer touchpoints
  • Maintain a living source of truth for design tokens, component rules, and brand compliance
  • Build scalable foundational architecture supporting product expansions, rebrands, and theme changes

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience building, scaling, and maintaining production-ready design systems
  • Deep understanding of constraints and guidelines across Web, iOS, and Android
  • Portfolio demonstrating systems-level design decisions, sustainable scaling, and optimized designer/engineer workflows
  • Strong familiarity with how developers inspect, build, and consume components in code repositories
  • Advanced knowledge of Figma libraries, auto-layout, components, variants, variables, and library publication
  • Solid grasp of accessibility standards (WCAG), contrast requirements, and inclusive design principles
  • Familiarity with component-driven frameworks including React and Flutter
  • Familiarity with Atomic Design methodology
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to translate complex design system choices into executive-level updates and technical guidelines
  • Resume and portfolio showcasing best work, preferably with fintech or SaaS-related projects
  • Portfolio demonstrating measurable impact on user experience, business metrics, or engagement
  • Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product thinking, including research, wireframes, prototypes, and final execution
