Job Description
Senior designer shaping UX/UI, ecommerce, and brand experiences for WhyteMatter’s digital products. Building scalable Figma design systems, accessible interfaces, Shopify experiences, and AI-enabled workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Own UX/UI design across web applications and digital products
- Translate complex business requirements into intuitive user journeys and interfaces
- Design dashboards, workflows, forms, tables, configuration screens, navigation and operational tools
- Create data visualisations and reporting experiences
- Produce user journeys, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs
- Work directly with users and stakeholders to understand underlying problems
- Validate ideas through research, usability testing and rapid iteration
- Design responsive experiences across desktop, tablet and mobile
- Embed accessibility throughout the design process
- Collaborate with engineers during implementation and review completed experiences
- Help establish consistent product-design practices
- Create and maintain reusable Figma components, patterns, variables and design tokens
- Align Figma components with reusable production components
- Design and improve Shopify storefronts, landing pages and campaign experiences
- Analyse customer journeys and behavioural/commercial data to identify UX opportunities
- Support conversion-rate optimisation and experimentation
- Develop brand identities, visual systems, brand guidelines, campaign concepts and digital creative
- Establish art direction and maintain visual consistency across brands
- Contribute to AI-related design challenges involving agents, recommendations, automation and dynamically generated interfaces
- Ask thoughtful questions, uncover underlying problems, challenge assumptions and help determine what should be built
- Establish a consistent design language, improve product usability, develop a scalable design system, and raise digital-design standards
Requirements:
- Strongest discipline in product, UX/UI or digital design, with broad visual-design capabilities
- Strong experience in product and UX/UI design, including user journeys, information architecture, wireframing and prototyping
- Experience with Figma and design systems, including components, patterns and scalable UI systems
- Experience with complex digital products such as SaaS platforms, B2B applications, dashboards and data visualisation
- Experience with responsive and accessible design across desktop, tablet and mobile
- Ecommerce design experience, including Shopify, customer journeys and conversion-focused experiences
- Brand and visual design experience, including identity, typography, layout and Adobe Creative Cloud
- User research, usability testing and iterative improvement experience
- Experience working directly with developers from initial concept through implementation
- Understanding of modern digital product construction, component-based applications, responsive layouts, reusable UI components, and the relationship between design systems and production software
- Curiosity about using AI to explore concepts, prototype ideas, synthesise research, generate variations and test hypotheses
- Portfolio and practical capabilities more important than a particular degree or previous job title
