Job Description
Senior Project Manager leading engineering delivery for India at SaaS startup Savant Labs. Collaborating with US leadership and managing cross-functional execution in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Own the release lifecycle for India-based engineering efforts — from sprint planning through deployment
- Partner with QA on release readiness gates — exercising technical judgment to evaluate whether bug fixes are safe to release, test coverage is sufficient, and rollback is warranted when needed
- Track and communicate delivery status, blockers, and risks proactively to US leadership
- Maintain release documentation and ensure Jira and Confluence are accurate and up to date
- Facilitate daily standups, sprint ceremonies, and retrospectives for India-side engineers
- Monitor sprint health — open ticket counts, assignments, unresolved blockers — and drive resolution
- Coordinate with tech leads to ensure work is well-scoped and progressing across workstreams
- Serve as a bridge between US-based leadership and India-based engineers for day-to-day execution
- Drive engineering process improvements — ticket hygiene, on-call handoffs, SLA adherence
- Own the India site's contribution to cross-team Agile ceremonies and sprint reporting
- Identify process gaps and propose actionable improvements without waiting to be asked
- Collaborate with QA, product, and engineering stakeholders to align priorities and dependencies
- Partner with product managers to evaluate and gate unplanned work requests, protecting sprint commitments and engineering focus from scope creep and ad-hoc interrupts
Requirements:
- 6–9 years of project management or technical program management experience
- Proven track record managing software engineering teams or delivery programs
- Strong experience working in distributed, US-India timezone environments
- Deep familiarity with Agile/Scrum — sprint management, release cycles, retrospectives
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for project tracking and documentation
- Excellent written and verbal English communication — this role requires clear, concise async comms
- Technical judgment to assess PRD readiness for development, evaluate test coverage and release safety, and make informed rollback or hold decisions based on engineer input
- Background in software engineering or a technical role — engineering empathy is critical
- Experience in a startup or high-growth environment with lean processes
- Familiarity with SaaS products, data platforms, or analytics tooling
- Experience coordinating with engineering teams across multiple time zones
