Job Description

Senior Software Engineer building Chainguard’s Go-based vulnerability clearing house on GCP. Developing enterprise data pipelines, agentic workflows, and scalable security infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain core clearing-house components in Go on GCP, including customer onboarding flows, entitlement logic, and data ingestion pipelines
  • Own ambiguous problems and features or subsystems from design through production, including testing and observability
  • Collaborate with staff and principal engineers on scalable architectural patterns
  • Build backend systems that transform unstructured enterprise-customer data into structured, validated outputs
  • Design, implement, and operate reliable agentic workflows across production systems
  • Participate in on-call rotation, incident response, and postmortems
  • Become a go-to engineer for core subsystems and lead multi-engineer efforts
  • Review code, provide direct feedback, and raise engineering standards
  • Contribute infrastructure-as-code and operational tooling with Terraform and GCP-native tooling

Requirements:

  • Solid backend engineering foundation; experience shipping and maintaining production systems
  • Strong Go engineering skills
  • GCP and Terraform experience
  • Ability to navigate unstructured data problems, including parsing, validating, and deduplicating
  • Experience with operational excellence, including monitoring, alerting, and graceful degradation
  • Ability to scope and drive features independently with minimal oversight
  • Experience with Agentic AI workflows
  • Security or infrastructure domain knowledge
  • Experience with customer-facing APIs or workflow systems is a plus
  • Experience in security vulnerability domain, coordinated disclosure process, or CVE publication is nice to have
