Job Description

Senior Software Engineer building AI-enabled customs and document services for C.H. Robinson’s global logistics operations. Leading architecture, software quality, automation, and engineering mentorship.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and translate customer, product, and business requirements into detailed technical designs
  • Design solutions aligned with long-term service, product, and platform strategies
  • Define interfaces, service boundaries, data contracts, and integration patterns
  • Develop high-quality code and influence architectural direction
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools and agentic engineering workflows across discovery, design, development, testing, documentation, refactoring, and troubleshooting
  • Validate AI-generated output for correctness, security, maintainability, performance, licensing, and architectural alignment
  • Break complex engineering work into actionable tasks
  • Maintain test infrastructure and apply automated testing, regression validation, and quality gates
  • Optimize, refactor, simplify, and reuse code across multiple codebases
  • Lead code reviews and drive sustainable resolution of issues
  • Identify and resolve performance, reliability, scalability, availability, and production issues
  • Maintain architectural, technical, operational, and decision documentation
  • Design secure products and services and address security vulnerabilities
  • Estimate work across projects, including resources, dependencies, sequencing, and risks
  • Identify technologies, tools, frameworks, patterns, and automation opportunities
  • Develop solution strategies for new technologies, engineering practices, automation, and agentic tooling
  • Mentor and coach software engineers
  • Improve engineering lifecycle and practices
  • Drive collaboration across teams and increase team output
  • Present technical options, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations to leadership, product managers, and stakeholders
  • Improve processes through automation, tooling, scripts, templates, AI agents, CI/CD, monitoring, and documentation

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience developing, implementing, and supporting commercial software across multiple platforms
  • Experience owning and delivering projects and results of increasing technical complexity
  • 8+ years of experience with .NET Core, C#, TypeScript, or similar technologies
  • Experience with HTML/CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools, coding assistants, or agentic engineering workflows
  • Ability to critically review, validate, and own AI-assisted or tool-generated output
  • Experience with relational databases such as MS SQL or Oracle, including schema design, stored procedures, query tuning, performance analysis, and optimization
  • Experience with non-relational databases such as MongoDB, Elastic, or Cosmos DB
  • Experience with HTTP, REST architecture, APIs, service contracts, and distributed system integration patterns
  • Experience with unit, integration, acceptance, regression, and automated testing
  • Experience with Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps, TFS, or similar version control platforms
  • Experience with CI/CD, build pipelines, release automation, and deployment quality gates
  • Experience building, deploying, or supporting cloud-native applications using Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Strong understanding of secure development, code quality, maintainability, observability, and operational ownership
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field, or a minimum of 4 years of equivalent work experience and high school diploma/GED
