Job Description
Senior PCB Designer creating layouts, drawings, and ECAD libraries for L3Harris aerospace and defense systems. Remote U.S. role supporting manufacturing-ready circuit card assemblies.
Responsibilities:
- Design and create printed circuit board (PCB) layouts for circuit card assemblies (CCAs)
- Place components within a given size envelope and route metal traces between components
- Hold milestone reviews with design engineers and manufacturing process engineers
- Release PCB and CCA drawings
- Ensure electrical and physical specifications meet design requirements
- Ensure manufacturing and assembly requirements are met
- Develop and generate drawings and documentation for PCB fabrication and assembly
- Rework PCB designs when engineering design changes occur
- Assist the design team with ideas to resolve issues
- Update drawings and documentation according to engineering change requests
- Create ECAD library footprints and/or schematic symbols as required
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience, or graduate Degree and a minimum 4 years of prior related experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
- Multiple years of experience in PCB design or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in PCB design
- Competent skills and experience with ECAD software applications and related equipment
- Specific experience with Siemens (formerly Mentor Graphics) Xpedition software is desired
- Competent experience and knowledge of PCB design technologies, PCB layout techniques, electrical schematics, PCB fabrication and assembly drawings is desired
- Practical knowledge of IPC design standards, including design for manufacturability, and ASME/ANSI documentation standards is desired
- Knowledge of IPC-2221, IPC-2222, IPC-6012, IPC-A-600, and IPC-A-610 is desired
- IT experience supporting backend management and maintenance of ECAD tools such as Siemens Xpedition and EDM
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and/or IPC CID certification is desired
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is beneficial
