Job Description
Senior Staff Engineer developing optimization models, simulations, and scalable applications for Nagarro’s digital product engineering services. Remote role serving South Asia supply-chain clients.
Responsibilities:
- Understand client business use cases and technical requirements and convert them into elegant technical designs
- Develop optimization models using exact solvers such as Gurobi, CPLEX, and AMPL
- Develop heuristic and meta-heuristic algorithms, including genetic algorithms, simulated annealing, tabu search, and particle swarm optimization
- Build discrete-event and agent-based simulations using AnyLogic, FlexSim, or equivalent platforms
- Translate business challenges into mathematical formulations and embed models into scalable applications
- Support pre-sales and GTM asset development
- Map decisions to requirements and translate them for developers
- Identify alternative solutions and select the best option for client requirements
- Define guidelines and benchmarks for non-functional requirements during project implementation
- Write and review architecture, framework, and high-level design documents
- Review architecture and design for extensibility, scalability, security, design patterns, user experience, and non-functional requirements
- Develop overall solutions for functional and non-functional requirements and define technologies, patterns, and frameworks
- Understand and apply technology integration scenarios in projects
- Resolve code and review issues through systematic root-cause analysis and justify decisions
- Carry out proofs of concept to validate proposed designs and technologies
- Stay current with operations research and simulation advancements
Requirements:
- Total experience 7.5+ years
- Experience with supply chain platforms (Llamasoft, O9, Anaplan, Kinaxis)
- Ability to create hybrid optimization approaches and real-time optimization engines for large-scale, time-constrained problems
- Ability to implement machine learning-enhanced optimization and approximation algorithms for complex combinatorial problems
- Experience with meta-heuristic algorithms and simulation platforms
- Advanced Python programming and understanding of computational complexity
- Proven experience solving real-world supply chain problems, including network optimization, inventory planning, routing, warehousing, and sourcing
- Ability to translate data and models into clear business recommendations
- Communication skills to bridge technical work and business decision-making
- Strong business communication and trade-off assessment skills
- Experience with machine learning libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow) and multi-objective optimization
- Experience in parallel computing, stochastic optimization, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Application integration experience and consulting background
- Proficiency in optimization solvers and heuristic algorithm development
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
