Job Description
Senior Staff Engineer developing optimization models, simulations, and scalable applications for Nagarro’s digital product engineering business. Solving complex supply chain challenges across South Asia.
Responsibilities:
- Understand client business use cases and technical requirements and convert them into technical designs
- Develop optimization models using exact solvers (Gurobi, CPLEX, AMPL) and heuristic/meta-heuristic algorithms
- Build discrete-event and agent-based simulations using AnyLogic, FlexSim, or equivalent platforms
- Translate business challenges into mathematical formulations and embed models into scalable applications
- Support pre-sales and GTM asset development
- Stay current with operations research and simulation advancements
- Map decisions to requirements and translate them for developers
- Identify different solutions and narrow down the best option meeting client requirements
- Define guidelines and benchmarks for non-functional requirements during project implementation
- Write and review design documents covering architecture, frameworks, and high-level application design
- Review architecture and design for extensibility, scalability, security, design patterns, user experience, and non-functional requirements
- Develop and design overall solutions for functional and non-functional requirements, defining technologies, patterns, and frameworks
- Apply technology integration scenarios and learnings in projects
- Resolve code and review issues through systematic root-cause analysis and justify decisions
- Carry out proofs of concept to validate proposed designs and technologies
Requirements:
- Total experience 9+ years
- Experience with supply chain platforms (Llamasoft, O9, Anaplan, Kinaxis)
- Ability to create hybrid optimization approaches and real-time optimization engines for large-scale, time-constrained problems
- Ability to implement machine learning-enhanced optimization and approximation algorithms for complex combinatorial problems
- Experience with meta-heuristic algorithms and simulation platforms
- Advanced Python programming and understanding of computational complexity
- Proven experience solving real-world supply chain problems such as network optimization, inventory planning, routing, warehousing, and sourcing
- Ability to translate data and models into clear business recommendations
- Communication skills to bridge technical work and business decision-making
- Strong business communication and trade-off assessment skills
- Experience with machine learning libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow) and multi-objective optimization
- Experience in parallel computing, stochastic optimization, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Application integration experience and consulting background
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
