Job Description

Senior/Staff Software Quality Engineer leading quality strategy and defining quality intelligence frameworks. Partnering with various teams to ensure system reliability and quality assurance standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead quality strategy in an AI-augmented API engineering environment
  • Define quality intelligence frameworks
  • Validate AI-powered features
  • Embed continuous quality practices across the SDLC
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, Data, and TechOps teams
  • Shape and execute AI-driven API risk-based testing strategies across distributed systems
  • Drive end-to-end quality assurance for web and mobile releases
  • Establish quality gates within CI/CD pipelines
  • Own API quality strategy, including GraphQL testing, performance monitoring, and SLA validation
  • Lead test architecture decisions for microservices and AI-integrated platforms
  • Mentor and guide QA engineers on modern AI-driven quality engineering practices
  • Leverage telemetry, observability tools, and defect trend analysis to identify systemic risks
  • Advocate for API design best practices, testability, observability, and reliability during architecture reviews
  • Embed AI-driven security and performance testing into the development lifecycle

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Experience designing and building AI-driven API test automation frameworks from the ground up
  • Hands-on experience with GraphQL API testing, including schema validation, query/mutation testing, and working within or alongside Apollo Studio
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, CircleCI)
  • Mastery of AI-powered API testing tools and demonstrated ability to coach and share knowledge
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud-native architectures
  • Extensive experience designing, implementing, and evolving Cypress test suites at scale
  • Ability to read, debug, and write basic code
  • Strong analytical and systems-thinking mindset
  • Strategic and data-driven decision making
  • Ethical and responsible AI awareness
  • Experience with performance, security, and chaos testing
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams using tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A natural problem-solver who is energized by ambiguity and building something new
