Job Description
Software Engineer developing Python and JavaScript/TypeScript internal tools, APIs, and automations. Supporting WattFox’s sustainable energy comparison platform through pragmatic, scalable solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance internal applications and services using Python and JavaScript or TypeScript
- Implement specific requirements from day-to-day business operations
- Understand and structure business requirements in collaboration with business departments
- Develop pragmatic technical solutions, prototypes, and MVPs
- Identify opportunities for automation and optimization
- Connect existing systems via APIs, databases, and interfaces
- Evolve prototypes into stable and maintainable solutions
- Collaborate with the Technical Team and Core Platform Team on architectural questions and integrations
- Ensure solution quality through clean, testable code, automated tests, and clear technical documentation
- Make effective use of modern AI tools to support development work
Requirements:
- Practical experience in software development
- Experience independently working on applications, tools, or automations
- Good knowledge of Python and/or JavaScript or TypeScript
- Basic understanding of APIs, databases, and fundamental software architectures
- Experience with Git and collaborative development processes
- Understanding of clean, maintainable, and testable code
- Initial experience with CI/CD, automated testing, or Docker is a plus
- Interest in the business context and in collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Curiosity, willingness to learn, and openness to feedback
- Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or comparable applications in day-to-day development, or willingness to learn how to use them effectively and responsibly
- German language skills at least at B2 level
- English language skills at least at B2 level
