Job Description
Convergint Solutions Architect designing and estimating complex electronic security projects. Supporting enterprise customers, sales teams, and regulated environments with accurate proposals.
Responsibilities:
- Work with customers and sales colleagues to create solutions, designs, scopes of work, and specifications for large-scale and highly complex projects
- Participate in site surveys to understand site conditions and challenges for complex, multi-technology electronic and physical security solutions
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and technical discussions to assess project needs and unique requirements
- Lead detailed cost estimates for large, multi-site or multi-country complex security projects, including data centers, global enterprise installations, and regulated environments
- Lead security design development when serving as the security design consultant
- Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and RFPs to develop accurate and competitive proposals
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, procurement, and operations to align estimates with scope, technical requirements, and timelines
- Work with partners to identify new and best technologies for solutions and designs
- Source and manage pricing from specialized vendors, subcontractors, and partners
- Identify project risks, special handling requirements, and solutions addressing regulatory and customer expectations
- Mentor junior estimators with technical guidance and strategic support
- Participate in client meetings and presentations to clarify project scope and value proposition
- Work with installation teams to ensure estimate feasibility and accuracy
- Apply industry knowledge of regulations and compliance requirements
- Track project costs, risks, and margins to optimize pricing strategies
- Ensure estimates align with company pricing strategies and market competitiveness
- Prepare and present proposals to internal and external customers
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required
Requirements:
- College degree, trade school, or equivalent experience
- 7-9 years of experience in design consulting, system design, system commissioning, estimating, project management and/or installation for complex and large-scale electronic physical security projects
- Expertise in access control, CCTV, and physical security systems, with a focus on large-scale enterprise, multi-site and complex projects
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for specialized environments
- Proficiency in advanced estimating tools, Microsoft Office, and project collaboration software
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects and deliver under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and leadership skills for cross-functional collaboration
