Job Description
Sourcing Engineer evaluating parts, quotations, and manufacturing capabilities for Xometry’s digital manufacturing marketplace. Connecting customer requirements with suitable providers and supporting project execution.
Responsibilities:
- Assess the technical complexity of parts and components to support accurate sourcing and manufacturing evaluations
- Review technical requirements, drawings, specifications, and project documentation to identify manufacturing considerations
- Identify suitable manufacturing capabilities and providers for complex parts and projects
- Assign and maintain technical tags for accurate categorization of parts and manufacturing requirements
- Review technical content within quotations for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with customer requirements
- Identify technical issues or gaps and work with relevant teams to resolve them
- Support complex projects and critical deals with technical input and manufacturing expertise
- Participate in meetings with clients and manufacturing providers to clarify requirements and resolve technical challenges
- Communicate technical information to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ensure alignment between customer requirements, manufacturing capabilities, and sourcing solutions
- Collaborate with engineering, sourcing, sales, and internal teams on project execution
- Share technical knowledge and best practices and contribute to continuous improvement of sourcing processes
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge to junior team members when needed
Requirements:
- Higher technical education, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment involving complex products, parts, or components
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, technical drawings, part specifications, and component complexity
- Experience working with suppliers, manufacturers, sourcing teams, engineering teams, or technical procurement is preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- B1-B2 level English proficiency
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and resolve technical challenges
- Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across engineering, sourcing, sales, and operations teams
- Ability to work under pressure, manage changing priorities, and maintain attention to detail
