Job Description

Field-based migraine pharmaceutical representative driving AbbVie sales and brand performance. Managing Santa Monica-area healthcare accounts, customer relationships, and territory strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute AbbVie brand strategy and tactics in the field
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
  • Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts
  • Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs
  • Create pre-call plans and conduct post-call evaluations
  • Handle objections, concerns, and misunderstandings during sales calls
  • Gain logical calls to action and close sales calls
  • Develop and execute call plans optimizing coverage and frequency for key customers
  • Build knowledge of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales practices
  • Share market intelligence with in-field, brand, and sales management teams
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers
  • Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience required
  • At least five years of relevant and equivalent industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, including three or more years within the pharmaceutical, health, or science industry preferred
  • High school diploma/GED required when using experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
  • Proven track record of leadership success
  • Solid presentation skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Proficient use of business tools
  • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
  • Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
  • English proficiency verbally and in writing preferred for non-English-speaking countries
  • Must satisfy applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements and be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain credentials
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
  • Must meet safe driving requirements
  • Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
  • Scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge preferred
