Job Description
Field-based migraine pharmaceutical representative driving AbbVie sales and brand performance. Managing Santa Monica-area healthcare accounts, customer relationships, and territory strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Execute AbbVie brand strategy and tactics in the field
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
- Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts
- Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs
- Create pre-call plans and conduct post-call evaluations
- Handle objections, concerns, and misunderstandings during sales calls
- Gain logical calls to action and close sales calls
- Develop and execute call plans optimizing coverage and frequency for key customers
- Build knowledge of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales practices
- Share market intelligence with in-field, brand, and sales management teams
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers
- Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience required
- At least five years of relevant and equivalent industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, including three or more years within the pharmaceutical, health, or science industry preferred
- High school diploma/GED required when using experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
- Proven track record of leadership success
- Solid presentation skills
- Strong business acumen
- Proficient use of business tools
- Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
- English proficiency verbally and in writing preferred for non-English-speaking countries
- Must satisfy applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements and be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain credentials
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
- Must meet safe driving requirements
- Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
- Scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge preferred
