Job Description

Specialty Representative promoting AbbVie’s neuroscience medicines in Beckley, West Virginia. Managing healthcare accounts, sales calls, territory strategy, and customer relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute AbbVie brand strategy and tactics in the field
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
  • Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts
  • Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance
  • Create pre-call plans and conduct post-call evaluations to improve sales performance
  • Handle objections, misunderstandings, and concerns; secure calls to action and close sales calls
  • Serve customer needs and expectations while building trusted relationships and win-win agreements
  • Develop and execute call plans that meet call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency for key customers
  • Build knowledge of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical topics, and sales
  • Share market intelligence with in-field, brand, and sales teams and sales manager
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers
  • Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
  • Operate within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations, keeping patients at the center of efforts

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • Relevant and equivalent industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five years of experience, including three or more years within the pharmaceutical, health, or science industry preferred
  • High school diploma/GED required when using experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
  • Proven track record of leadership success
  • Solid presentation skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Proficient use of business tools
  • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
  • Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach quickly
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
  • Pharmaceutical commercial industry experience preferred, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge preferred
  • English language proficiency preferred for non-English-speaking countries
  • Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain these credentials
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
  • Must meet safe driving requirements
