Job Description
Staff iOS Engineer shaping BeReal’s scalable social app platform at Voodoo. Leading architecture, performance, tooling, and technical direction for millions of users.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the technical direction of the iOS platform, ensuring long-term scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability
- Design and deliver high-impact iOS features and systems
- Balance short-term product needs with long-term platform health
- Lead cross-functional initiatives with product, design, data, backend, and Android teams
- Drive engineering best practices across the iOS team, including code quality, testing, and development processes
- Mentor iOS engineers and contribute to technical leadership and knowledge sharing
- Assess the technical, user, and business impact of shipped features using data and user feedback
- Continuously improve the iOS tech stack and tooling
- Work alongside AI-powered tools to amplify productivity and creativity
Requirements:
- 8+ years of professional iOS development experience, including ownership of large-scale, consumer-facing apps
- Previous experience as a Staff iOS Engineer or equivalent, with demonstrated impact beyond feature delivery
- Strong product sensitivity and deep technical expertise applied at the platform level
- Proven experience improving an iOS app globally across architecture, performance, tooling, and development processes
- Ability to identify, investigate, and drive solutions to complex technical problems affecting multiple teams
- Strong track record of mentoring engineers, leading peer programming, and enabling better technical practices
- Excellent knowledge of Swift and SwiftUI, with experience shipping and maintaining production systems
- Solid understanding of iOS architecture and system design
- Data-informed mindset, comfortable using analytics and feedback to guide technical and product decisions
- Highly autonomous, proactive, and impact-driven
- Experience with Combine, Swift Package Manager, Swift Concurrency, and MVVM
- Experience with GitHub
