Job Description
Staff engineer building scalable digital health platforms, microservices, and AI solutions for CVS Health. Leading architecture, delivery excellence, complex issue resolution, and developer mentorship.
Responsibilities:
- Build next-generation digital health platforms and deliver use cases into products
- Create proof of concepts to address customer challenges
- Design and implement efficient, scalable solutions meeting business requirements and quality standards
- Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions with architects and senior engineers
- Provide input on technical feasibility, performance optimization and scalability
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices and quality guidelines
- Coordinate with team members, business leaders and IT leaders to align delivery and support decision-making
- Adopt best practices, new technologies and tools to improve productivity, efficiency and code quality
- Participate in code reviews, tech talks and workshops
- Implement complex features, enhance existing functionality and deliver high-quality code
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers
- Provide expert support for complex issues and root-cause analysis
- Identify digital ecosystem gaps and develop performance-enhancing solutions
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience working with enterprise solution delivery in a large-scale distributed software design environment
- 5+ years of Java development experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise cloud initiatives and solutions with cloud computing technologies
- 5+ years of designing and developing modern microservices and cost-effective APIs
- 3+ years of experience working on CI/CD Pipeline automation
- 3+ years of experience working in an Agile-based development environment
- 2+ years of Agentic AI / Generative AI experience
- Health and wellness domain experience preferred
- Hands-on full stack development experience with AngularJS, JavaScript, Oracle and modern databases like NoSQL preferred
- Strong understanding of Generative AI concepts and techniques, including NLP, text generation and summarization, conversational AI and chatbots preferred
- Hands-on experience developing user-facing features and/or applications preferred
- Ability to create and execute scalable roadmaps preferred
- Ability to learn/work with emerging Cloud/IT technologies, methodologies and solutions preferred
- Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)
