Job Description
Staff Solutions Architect at Temporal liaising with sales, product, and engineering teams. Focusing on DACH territory solutions and architecting customer systems.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a strategic technical advisor to Sales Account Executives, assisting with scoping and sizing opportunities and offering guidance on technical fit and challenges for the DACH region.
- Lead customer discovery to understand architecture, constraints, and success criteria, and map those to Temporal-based solutions
- Design end-to-end reference architectures that demonstrate how Temporal fits into existing services, data stores, and infrastructure
- Build and deliver high-impact demos and technical narratives that clearly show how Temporal solves real customer pain
- Run deep technical workshops, whiteboard sessions, and proof-of-concept engagements with engineering and architecture teams
- Provide hands-on guidance on best practices for workflow and activity design, testing strategies, and operationalization of Temporal in production
- Identify and mitigate technical risks in customer projects, escalating and collaborating with Product and Engineering as needed
- Capture and communicate customer feedback and feature requests into Product, influencing roadmap and prioritization
- Contribute to reusable assets for the field (reference architectures, example workflows, solution playbooks, and enablement content)
- Represent Temporal in customer meetings, executive briefings, and at community events or conferences in the DACH market
Requirements:
- Significant experience (typically several years) in customer-facing, technical pre-sales or post-sales roles such as Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Field Engineer, or equivalent
- Strong background in designing and operating distributed systems or cloud-native applications, with a deep understanding of reliability, scalability, and failure modes
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, outcome-focused narratives for both technical and business audiences
- Proficiency in building application prototypes and providing design, development, build, and deployment guidance using one or more of Temporal’s supported languages: Java, Golang, TypeScript, Python, C#, Ruby or PHP.
- Practical experience with cloud platforms (such as AWS, GCP, or Azure) and common infrastructure components (networking, messaging, observability, CI/CD)
- Proven track record partnering with sales teams on strategic accounts, including working through technical evaluations, proof-of-concept stages, and production rollouts
- Experience working with or advising large customers in DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), with comfort navigating complex stakeholder environments
- Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to earn trust with senior engineers and technical leaders.
