Job Description

Strategic Account Manager overseeing dealer relationships at GM Financial with a focus on sales and business development in automotive finance. Participants are prepared for Account Manager roles after the training program.

Responsibilities:

  • Gain real-world experience in financial services sales, business development and customer relationship management.
  • Work alongside top sales professionals to develop strategic selling techniques.
  • Manage dealer relationships within a geographic territory to achieve key objectives.
  • Support on all GM Financial initiatives.
  • Learn the foundation of the business from a credit analysis perspective.
  • Experience field sales roles and dealership operations firsthand.
  • Analyze dealer-specific data using reporting tools and take appropriate action after completing the program.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred or extensive relevant experience.
  • Leadership experience in the classroom, community or workplace; formal management experience is not required.
  • 2+ years of sales, account management or auto finance experience is considered a plus.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and people skills.
  • Must possess the ability to make quality decisions independently.
  • Ability to meet deadlines consistently and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to overcome rejection and setbacks.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work both independently and collaboratively to drive change in your assigned market.
  • Please note that you will be required to remain in your initial placement location after completion of the SAM program for 18 months before applying to internal roles.
