Job Description
Strategic Account Manager managing automotive sales and key accounts for Röhm, developing strategies while maintaining key relationships. Focused on the Region America Automotive segment with customer engagement and complaint resolution responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- The Strategic Account Manager will manage, develop and grow the assigned territory within the Region America Automotive segment.
- This role manages assigned OEMs, strategic customers, markets, applications, identified/relevant tiers and identified global key accounts within the assigned territory.
- Maintains/builds relationships.
- This role manages and insures proper handling of customer complaints and activities.
- It will support defining account strategies, tactical plans, targets/deliverables, implement and insure attainment of business objectives.
- This role will additionally lead support team through the execution of the account strategy and resolution of challenges encountered.
- You will interact with and update regional and global automotive teams as well as support functions on progress, challenges and evolving business environment, while insuring timely completion of deliverables.
Requirements:
- Minimum requirement of a technical Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science or similar), MBA is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience in the automotive plastic industry working with OEMs and Tier in a technical sales or marketing capacity, preferably in acrylic, polycarbonate or other clear materials.
- Based within 2 hour drive of metropolitan Detroit, 1 hour preferred.
- Must have experience working in a cross-functional heavily matrixed environment, interacting with people from all different levels and cultures.
- Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to take initiative, ownership and influence / motivate others.
- Good computer skills, specifically in SAP, CRM, and Microsoft Office products are a must.
- Ability to travel within the territory 50% or more of the time. Will also require occasional travel outside of territory, including international.
