Job Description
Supplier Capacity Development Manager scaling external supplier readiness for ABB’s global MV switchgear business. Standardizing methodologies, coordinating factories, and mitigating capacity risks.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy a standardized external supplier capacity development approach across ELDS MV Switchgear Business Line factories
- Identify, prioritize, assess, and develop critical external suppliers to grow capacity and meet mid/long-term external material needs
- Lead BL-wide methodology development, support in-factory implementation, and coordinate across factories
- Develop and maintain supplier assessment and development methodologies, including self-assessment surveys and on-site audit playbooks
- Orchestrate rollout across factories, ensuring consistent implementation, knowledge sharing, and best-practice dissemination
- Support factory teams in assessing supplier readiness and creating milestone-based supplier development roadmaps
- Lead cross-factory coordination and engagement with global suppliers
- Develop KPIs and reporting methods to consolidate findings, track roadmap progress, and confirm supplier readiness for capacity ramp-up
- Communicate and align with factories, procurement, supply chain, and quality teams
- Identify, escalate, and resolve critical business-line-wide supplier capacity risks
- Develop and maintain training materials and guidance documentation
- Drive continuous improvement of the capacity evaluation methodology
- Coordinate cross-functional working groups and project teams
- Coach factory teams and stakeholders on capacity evaluation methodology and best practices
- Manage external support providers and auditors
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, with solid understanding of supplier dynamics, sourcing strategies, and capacity risk assessment
- Proven experience working in a complex multinational environment, leading multi-country projects in a global or regional role
- Previous experience in the energy sector
- Proven experience in data analysis and reporting, including interpreting complex datasets, developing KPIs, and translating findings into actionable insights for senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated track record in process development and standardization, including designing and rolling out methodologies, tools, and frameworks across multiple sites or organizations
- Proven track record in project management and cross-functional coordination, managing multiple workstreams simultaneously in a complex, matrixed environment
- Experience in quality and compliance management, including familiarity with audit processes, supplier assessment tools, and regulatory requirements
- Background in operations and capacity planning, with hands-on knowledge of manufacturing environments and supplier production capabilities
- Strong stakeholder management skills across different geographies and functions
- Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
