Job Description
Systems Engineer analyzing functional requirements and writing test cases for engineering projects. Collaborating with experts and the Systems Integration Team to ensure valid testing evidence.
Responsibilities:
- Analysing functional requirements modelled in SysML and defined within textual sub-system specifications
- Liaising with Domain Subject Matter Experts in order to elaborate or further explore complex functional behaviour
- Writing functional test cases / specifications in order to generate progressive assurance and verification evidence
- Defining traceability mechanisms between requirements and test cases
- Liaising with the Systems Engineering Team in order to ensure that any test cases are valid, traceable, feasible and will provide the necessary evidence
- Liaising with the wider Systems Integration Team to ensure that test cases are pragmatic, comprehensive, realistic and achievable
- (Potentially) executing the defined System Test Cases within an Integration Laboratory environment
- Providing regular progress updates to the Project Management and Systems Integration Management teams
- Identifying, reporting and proposing mitigation for risks, issues and dependencies
Requirements:
- Electronics / Systems Engineering / Systems Integration background
- Ability to read and interpret SysML Models, especially Sequence and Internal Block Diagrams
- Ability to interpret textual functional requirements
- Experience of writing detailed test cases in order to verify complex system behaviour
- Experience in Microsoft office applications; Word, Excel, Visio etc.
