Job Description

Technical Application Engineer supporting GE Vernova’s MDS and Lentronics industrial communications products. Developing technical sales strategies, customer solutions, presentations, and project scopes.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Sales, channels, and customers on pre-sales and post-sales technical efforts for Industrial Communications products (MDS and Lentronics)
  • Develop and execute technical sales strategies relevant to market opportunities
  • Communicate individual customer requirements to the Sales Manager regarding designs and quotations
  • Communicate order-fulfillment requirements to sourcing and operations teams
  • Direct customer management with clear internal and external communication
  • Document competitor activity and assess potential market moves
  • Review and influence customer specifications to ensure compliance or identify exceptions for equipment and service quotations
  • Collaborate with Communications Sales Application Engineers, Sales Managers, and the immediate manager
  • Deliver technical presentations to all levels of customer organizations
  • Develop engineering and installation work scopes, schedules, and cost estimates for total-scope project offerings
  • Manage and negotiate commercial and contractual risk within the Inquiry to Order process
  • Contribute to regional sales, orders, profitability, and Inquiry to Order quality goals

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent years of experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Technical Engineering role
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 70%
  • CCNA / CCNP knowledge or certification is desired
  • IEEE, MIS, or CS knowledge is desired
  • Six Sigma training or equivalent quality training is desired
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Solid presentation, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Excellent creative problem-solving skills and customer mindset
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable, is required as a condition of employment
