Job Description

Technical Writer at GDIT developing documentation for IT operations excellence. Collaborating across teams to ensure compliance and knowledge sharing in federal health programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, update, and maintain technical documentation, including full diagram schematics, manuals, and operational procedures
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) to support project management, workflows, and compliance efforts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and subject matter experts, to gather and organize technical information
  • Ensure all documentation complies with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
  • Review and edit existing documentation for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with current systems or requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, English, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Writer
  • Familiarity with industry-standard writing styles or government-specific guidelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly understand and translate technical information and concepts into clear documentation
  • Experience developing and maintaining POA&Ms or similar project plans
  • Familiarity with Agile or ITIL frameworks, as related to technical writing
