Job Description
Used Vehicle Director leading used-car sales, inventory, pricing, and trade strategy across AutoNation dealerships in Texas. Driving market-wide performance, compliance, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and manage Used Vehicle Sales Department activities across multiple locations
- Set expectations, objectives, and performance goals for used vehicle sales and gross profit across all stores
- Drive operational consistency, compliance, and process execution across the market
- Analyze market data and trends to maintain balanced inventory tailored to local demand
- Optimize inventory aging and pricing using internal tools and market intelligence
- Facilitate inter-store vehicle transfers to maximize retail opportunities and reduce aging
- Conduct regular business reviews to assess KPIs, identify shortfalls, and implement corrective action plans
- Evaluate speed-to-market metrics and reconditioning cycle times with Service Directors
- Champion merchandising best practices and AutoNation branding and digital presentation standards
- Support store leaders in managing showroom, e-commerce, and phone customer traffic
- Guide trade appraisal strategy and trade-in retention targets
- Partner with General Managers and Sales Managers on retail and acquisition strategies
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 7+ years of automotive sales management experience
- 3+ years in multi-store leadership preferred
- Proven success in used vehicle operations, inventory strategy, and retail execution
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Experience with dealership technology platforms (CRM, DMS, inventory and pricing tools)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
