Job Description
UX/UI Design Specialist designing intuitive and accessible digital experiences. Collaborating with engineers to transform business requirements into user-centered solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design intuitive, user-centered experiences for web applications, enterprise systems, and digital products.
- Conduct user research, stakeholder interviews, workflow analysis, and usability testing to identify opportunities for improving user experience.
- Translate business requirements into user flows, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity interface designs.
- Design responsive, accessible, and visually engaging user interfaces that align with Stanbridge University branding and accessibility standards.
- Create interactive prototypes to validate concepts and gather stakeholder feedback prior to development.
- Develop clear design specifications, annotations, and documentation for developer handoff.
- Collaborate closely with the Web Engineer to ensure designs are technically feasible and implemented with design fidelity.
- Participate in Agile planning sessions, sprint reviews, backlog refinement, and project discussions as requested.
- Review completed development work and provide feedback to ensure quality, usability, accessibility, and consistency.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the University's design system, UI component library, and visual standards.
- Analyze user feedback, usability findings, and product analytics to recommend continuous improvements.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to ensure consistency across institutional digital assets and branding.
- Stay current with emerging UX/UI trends, accessibility standards, AI-assisted design tools, and industry best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Visual Communication, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- Five (5) years of professional UX/UI design experience designing web applications, enterprise software, SaaS platforms, or complex digital products.
- Demonstrated expertise in user-centered design methodologies, interaction design, visual design, and responsive web design.
- Advanced proficiency with **Figma** for interface design, prototyping, and component management.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating the complete UX process, including research, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity UI design, and production-ready deliverables.
- Experience collaborating directly with software engineers throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Experience creating and maintaining design systems and reusable UI component libraries.
- Working knowledge of responsive web design principles and accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Strong written, verbal, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a collaborative environment.
- High English level (C1+).
- **Must be located in LATAM.**
- Preferred
- Experience designing higher education, healthcare, or other enterprise applications.
- Experience with design systems supporting multiple products or platforms.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end development concepts sufficient to collaborate effectively with developers.
- Experience conducting usability testing and interpreting user analytics.
- Experience working within Agile or Scrum software development environments.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Experience designing administrative portals, dashboards, workflow applications, or student-facing digital platforms.
- Experience working with AI-assisted design tools and modern UX research methodologies.
