Job Description

UX/UI Design Specialist designing intuitive and accessible digital experiences. Collaborating with engineers to transform business requirements into user-centered solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design intuitive, user-centered experiences for web applications, enterprise systems, and digital products.
  • Conduct user research, stakeholder interviews, workflow analysis, and usability testing to identify opportunities for improving user experience.
  • Translate business requirements into user flows, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity interface designs.
  • Design responsive, accessible, and visually engaging user interfaces that align with Stanbridge University branding and accessibility standards.
  • Create interactive prototypes to validate concepts and gather stakeholder feedback prior to development.
  • Develop clear design specifications, annotations, and documentation for developer handoff.
  • Collaborate closely with the Web Engineer to ensure designs are technically feasible and implemented with design fidelity.
  • Participate in Agile planning sessions, sprint reviews, backlog refinement, and project discussions as requested.
  • Review completed development work and provide feedback to ensure quality, usability, accessibility, and consistency.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the University's design system, UI component library, and visual standards.
  • Analyze user feedback, usability findings, and product analytics to recommend continuous improvements.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to ensure consistency across institutional digital assets and branding.
  • Stay current with emerging UX/UI trends, accessibility standards, AI-assisted design tools, and industry best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Visual Communication, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Five (5) years of professional UX/UI design experience designing web applications, enterprise software, SaaS platforms, or complex digital products.
  • Demonstrated expertise in user-centered design methodologies, interaction design, visual design, and responsive web design.
  • Advanced proficiency with **Figma** for interface design, prototyping, and component management.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating the complete UX process, including research, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity UI design, and production-ready deliverables.
  • Experience collaborating directly with software engineers throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience creating and maintaining design systems and reusable UI component libraries.
  • Working knowledge of responsive web design principles and accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a collaborative environment.
  • High English level (C1+).

  • Experience designing higher education, healthcare, or other enterprise applications.
  • Experience with design systems supporting multiple products or platforms.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end development concepts sufficient to collaborate effectively with developers.
  • Experience conducting usability testing and interpreting user analytics.
  • Experience working within Agile or Scrum software development environments.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Experience designing administrative portals, dashboards, workflow applications, or student-facing digital platforms.
  • Experience working with AI-assisted design tools and modern UX research methodologies.
