Job Description
Environmental vacation student supporting compliance, monitoring, GIS, drone operations, and field data work. Practical mining experience with Gold Fields, a leading global gold producer.
Responsibilities:
- Gain exposure to environmental activities across Gold Fields' Australian operations
- Support site environment teams with day-to-day compliance, monitoring, and reporting work
- Perform field data collection, data entry, and quality checks
- Learn and participate in GIS and drone operations
- Apply university learning in an operational mining setting
- Build professional networks and explore a potential career pathway in the mining industry
- Work alongside experienced technical professionals throughout the Summer
Requirements:
- Position open only to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants
- Current driver’s licence, ideally a manual licence or willingness to obtain one in the future
- In progress of completing a tertiary qualification in Environmental Management or similar
- Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
- Willing and able to work on a fly-in, fly-out roster in remote locations, including 12-hour shifts
