Job Description

Account Manager growing Thermo Fisher Scientific’s allergy and autoimmune diagnostic business across the UK Midlands and Northeast. Managing customer accounts, tenders, contracts and territory sales.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain existing business and grow the Allergy & Autoimmune market in line with agreed targets.
  • Manage and grow customer accounts across the territory.
  • Work alongside Marketing, Clinical, Technical Services and Application Specialist teams.
  • Develop customer relationships and manage contracts and tenders.
  • Participate in forecasting and planning activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date account plans and customer details in SFDC.
  • Log all activities and meetings accurately and timely in SFDC.
  • Negotiate contracts, including capital sales and reagent rentals, and lead service contract handling with Contracts & Tender and Tech Service teams.
  • Own tender responses and engage with primary MSPs through site visits and regular business reviews.
  • Use Thermo Fisher Diagnostics tools including SFDC and Power BI for forecasting and planning.
  • Support Cost Per Reportable customers with onsite stock checks.
  • Develop and engage with Key Opinion Leaders across the territory.
  • Provide market intelligence to Sales Manager, Marketing and Finance.
  • Communicate effectively across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with internal Quality Processes and CRM.
  • Attend internal and external meetings and events as required.

Requirements:

  • A degree, preferably in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biology or a related scientific field.
  • 5 years of sales experience, preferably in laboratory, scientific, or healthcare industries.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain customer relationships at all levels.
  • Technical knowledge and ability to understand customer applications and workflows.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and MS Office suite.
  • Analytical and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a matrix environment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel within assigned territory.
  • Fluency in English required; additional languages beneficial.
  • Customer-facing role with expectation that the majority of time will be spent with customers face to face, with 50-75% travel.
