Job Description

Accountant responsible for end-to-end bookkeeping for a US consumer brand in a startup environment. Managing accounts payable, receivable, and financial reporting processes remotely and flexibly.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the full Accounts Payable flow: reviewing supplier invoices, processing payments, matching charges, reconciling statements, and handling supplier inquiries.
  • Manage Accounts Receivable end-to-end: reviewing and sending invoices, monitoring aging reports, following up on overdue payments, and processing remittances.
  • Calculate quarterly royalties for licensing partners and artists, generate and send invoices, process payments, and maintain accurate royalty records.
  • Lead the Month-End Close process with a strong US GAAP mindset, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement updates.
  • Work daily with QuickBooks, Ramp, Excel, and Airtable to keep financial data clean, accurate, and up to date.
  • Prepare and review P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements, partnering closely with the Finance Lead to spot anomalies and trends.
  • Support sales tax monitoring and filings across US states, coordinating with external CPAs when needed.
  • Prepare biweekly payroll for full-time and part-time employees.
  • Build and maintain financial reports, budget vs. actuals, and spend analyses to support leadership decision-making.
  • Improve internal workflows by testing automation and AI-powered tools to boost efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally in a startup or small business environment.
  • You’re confident working with US GAAP and understand how it applies to growing companies.
  • You’ve used QuickBooks in a real-world setting and feel at home navigating financial systems.
  • Excel is your playground: lookups, pivot tables, and clean data don’t scare you.
  • You’ve worked with bill pay tools (Ramp, Brex, Bill.com, or similar) — bonus points if you know Ramp.
  • You’re comfortable communicating with suppliers and customers about invoices, payments, and documentation.
  • Your English is professional and clear, both written and spoken (C1 level or higher).
  • You’re organized, proactive, and take full ownership of your work — accuracy matters to you.
  • You’re curious about improving processes and excited to experiment with automation and AI tools.

Benefits:

  • Fair market pay
  • Remote, full-time job – work from the comfort of your own home!
  • US-aligned schedule, with daily overlap between 9 am - 6 pm ET, plus a 1-hour lunch break 🍕
  • Start-up culture, young team, no egos, no BS
