Job Description

Remote Accountant/Bookkeeper maintaining MYOB records and AP/AR for an Australian security-services business. Supporting fortnightly payroll and timesheets for approximately 300 staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain MYOB records
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Prepare invoices, receipts, reconciliations, and payment records
  • Support the fortnightly payroll cycle for approximately 300 staff
  • Review, reconcile, and organise employee timesheets
  • Assist with month-end reporting and financial administration
  • Follow up outstanding invoices and documentation
  • Maintain orderly digital finance files
  • Follow established procedures and escalate issues when clarification or approval is required
  • Provide management with clear updates on issues or missing information
  • Support bookkeeping and finance administration while Australian management or the appointed accountant retains responsibility for final approvals, statutory compliance, tax advice, financial policy, and other regulated decisions

Requirements:

  • Approximately 2–3 years in bookkeeping, accounts administration, payroll support, or a similar accounting role, preferably supporting an Australian business
  • Hands-on MYOB experience
  • Working knowledge of Australian accounting and payroll processes
  • Experience with timesheets, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Accurate data entry and reconciliation
  • Professional English communication
  • Discretion with confidential information
  • Strong organisation and follow-through
  • Experience in security services, facilities management, workforce services, rostering, labour-hire, logistics, or another multi-site and labour-intensive service industry is desirable
  • Resume outlining experience with MYOB, Australian accounting, payroll, timesheets, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  • May be asked to complete a short practical exercise involving a reconciliation, invoice entry, timesheet review, or AP/AR report
