Job Description

US Accountant maintaining financial records, compliance, and payroll administration. Collaborating across teams to support budgeting and auditing in a remote environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Conduct regular analysis of financial data to identify trends, inconsistencies, and areas for process improvement.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable transactions, including invoice verification, payment processing, and collections.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., bank reconciliation, AR aging, lapsing, prepaid amortization schedules, deferred revenue) to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Participate in internal and external audits by providing required documentation and support.
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of monthly corporate credit liquidation reports.
  • Record and post client invoices accurately and on time in the accounting system.
  • Review and process employee wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions accurately and on schedule.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws.
  • Address employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Coordinate with external U.S. tax advisors and accountants to support timely and accurate preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
  • Lead and execute month-end close activities to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial results.
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis for revenue and expense accounts to explain material movements and validate trends.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience, with at least 3 years in U.S. Accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and relevant financial regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Commitment to ethical practices and regulatory compliance.
