Job Description
Accounting Manager owning full-cycle accounting, job costing, and compliance for Veta Virtual’s roofing and construction client. Leading close, reporting, forecasting, and accounting systems remotely across LATAM or Europe.
Responsibilities:
- Own the full accounting cycle for roofing and construction operations, including reconciliations, month-end and year-end close, and financial reporting to leadership
- Oversee job costing and work-in-progress (WIP) schedules across multiple active jobs
- Own percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and progress billing across residential, commercial, and federal projects
- Act as a key financial decision-maker while balancing speed, accuracy, and compliance
- Lead integration and optimization of external applications with QuickBooks Online
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, expense management, subcontractor payments, and vendor/client interactions
- Resolve accounting discrepancies
- Own compliance for federally funded projects, including certified payroll and prevailing wage documentation
- Review and guide accounting support staff or bookkeepers, providing coaching and feedback
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
- Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
- Use accounting, collaboration, and productivity tools daily
- Stay current on emerging technologies and AI applications and champion efficiency-improving tools
Requirements:
- 5–7+ years of accounting experience with U.S.-based companies
- Experience owning a full-cycle accounting function
- CPA certification strongly preferred
- Proven success managing external stakeholders and cross-functional relationships
- Strong knowledge of construction or job-costed accounting practices
- Ability to lead accounting operations across multiple active projects
- Sound, high-stakes financial judgment in fast-paced, growing business settings
- Experience reviewing or guiding other accounting staff is a plus
- Familiarity with federal or government-funded project accounting is a strong plus, not required
- Essential proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Slack, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Zoom, Google Meet, and Google Drive
- Highly desirable experience with Bill.com, ClickUp, Gusto, and Ramp
- Experience integrating external applications with QuickBooks Online
- Familiarity with construction-specific job costing or project management software such as JobNimbus or AccuLynx is a bonus
- Awareness of AI use cases in accounting is a plus
- Full professional fluency in English, written and verbal
- Ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to non-finance leaders, project managers, and field teams
- Strong communication and collaboration across digital channels
- Proactive, solutions-oriented leadership; excellent time management, organization, and independent problem-solving skills
- High ownership, sound judgment, and adaptability in a remote, fast-growing environment
- Integrity, curiosity, and bias toward action
- Must be currently based in Latin America (LATAM) or Europe
