Job Description
Accounting Manager supporting an ABA therapy provider’s Controller with reconciliations, payables, payroll, and monthly close. Maintaining accurate financial reporting as clinic locations expand.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Controller in managing day-to-day accounting operations.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts across all locations and resolve discrepancies.
- Perform bookkeeping functions and maintain accurate accounting records in QuickBooks.
- Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including vendor invoice entry, coding, and approval routing.
- Maintain vendor records and W-9s and handle vendor inquiries.
- Reconcile vendor balances and statements to the accounts payable subledger.
- Lead and perform the monthly financial close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and close checklists.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger.
- Assist with financial reports, dashboards, and KPI reports.
- Assist with payroll processing and payroll tax compliance reporting.
- Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Help establish and maintain internal financial controls, policies, and procedures.
- Support external audits, tax filings, and financial reviews.
- Identify and help implement accounting process and reporting infrastructure improvements as Apollo Behavior expands.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Controller.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on experience with bank and credit card reconciliations, monthly close, general ledger accounting, and accounts payable.
- Experience working with US-based companies is required.
- Working knowledge of GAAP, payroll administration, and internal financial controls.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks or Sage.
- Advanced Excel skills are required.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of accounting responsibilities.
