Job Description
Accounting Manager scaling close, controls, reporting, and inventory accounting for RADAR’s hardware-enabled retail data platform. Partnering across finance and operations while preparing the company for its first external audit.
Responsibilities:
- Own and drive the month-end close, ensuring speed, accuracy, and zero surprises
- Build and deliver financial reporting for leadership, including variance analysis, business drivers, and actionable insights
- Improve accounting quality, controls, and GAAP compliance
- Apply technical accounting expertise, including ASC 606 and ASC 842, to business decisions
- Manage Procure-to-Pay workflows end-to-end
- Prepare and work through RADAR’s first external audit
- Design, document, and improve accounting policies, processes, and internal controls
- Own inventory accounting across raw materials, work-in-process, finished goods, and in-transit inventory
- Partner with external tax advisors and support income tax preparation
- Support international expansion
- Work with the NetSuite team to stabilize, optimize, and expand ERP capabilities
- Lead, mentor, and elevate the accounting team
- Collaborate with Procurement, Growth, Operations, HR, Legal, Tax, IT, and Strategic Finance
- In the first 30 days, learn RADAR’s business, technology, financial architecture, systems, workflows, close process, reconciliations, and reporting structure
- In the first 60 days, take ownership of key close activities, review work, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and improve documentation, controls, and SOPs
- In the first 90 days, fully own the close process, improve inventory and reporting workflows, establish review standards, and deliver gains in data quality, controls, and reporting reliability
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a high-growth technology environment
- Strong command of US GAAP, month-end close, and operational accounting
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite or a similar modern ERP
- Experience reviewing work and guiding others to high-quality output
- Ability to take ownership, move quickly, and proactively identify improvements
- Preferred: experience with Bill.com, Brex, Sphere, Rippling, and/or NetSuite
- Preferred: background in public accounting or audit
- Preferred: inventory or cost accounting experience
- Preferred: exposure to international expansion
- Preferred: CPA
- Preferred: experience in lean teams or startup environments
