Job Description

Associate Producer coordinating technical game development for Torn Banner Studios, an independent Toronto-based game studio. Tracking priorities, dependencies, risks, schedules, and deliverables across production, design, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Production, Technical, and Design teams throughout the game development lifecycle
  • Coordinate technical tasks, priorities, dependencies, and deliverables with programmers and technical team members
  • Track and communicate technical risks, blockers, and dependencies affecting production schedules or project scope
  • Facilitate communication between disciplines
  • Assist in defining project scope, schedules, milestones, and priorities
  • Maintain and track project plans, tasks, dependencies, and deliverables using Jira, Confluence, and spreadsheets
  • Coordinate day-to-day development activities and follow issues through to resolution
  • Assist with sprint planning, task prioritization, milestone planning, and production reviews
  • Support issue identification, prioritization, and tracking
  • Identify production challenges and work with team members to develop solutions
  • Improve production processes and adapt workflows to team and project needs
  • Contribute to a collaborative, transparent, and well-organized development environment

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in the games industry
  • At least 1 shipped game
  • Experience with production and project-management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Miro
  • Strong understanding of the game development lifecycle, production practices, and game development technology
  • Familiarity with technical game development processes and programming's role in game production
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts to support collaboration between production and engineering/programming teams
  • Ability to assist in defining project scope, schedules, milestones, and priorities
  • Strong written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and decision-making skills
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable taking initiative
  • Understanding and passion for video games
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process-improvement opportunities and adapt processes to team needs
  • Candidates must be current Ontario residents
