Job Description
Avionics Technician installing and maintaining avionics and special mission systems for firefighting aircraft. Seeking experienced professionals for a crucial role in aerial firefighting technology.
Responsibilities:
- Wire, install, configure, test, and verify operation of avionics equipment and accessories across Beechcraft King Air Series, Pilatus PC-12, and Kodiak 100 aircraft.
- Program and configure special mission radios and communication systems, including software loading, frequency programming, and mission-specific configurations.
- Configure and update Garmin avionics equipment, including database loading, system setup, and integration verification across installed avionics suites.
- Troubleshoot aircraft communications systems, including VHF radios, intercoms, datalinks, and associated antennas and wiring; identify and resolve faults using test equipment and technical reference materials.
- Demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, avionics schematics, and component technical data to support installations and troubleshooting.
- Modify existing wire harnesses and fabricate new wire harnesses in support of avionics installations and aircraft modifications.
- Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance and avionics records using the Bridger Aerospace records system, ensuring all work is documented in compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Assist with general aircraft maintenance including scheduled and unscheduled inspections, phase checks, engine runs, and operational checks across multiple airframe types.
- Support removal and installation of engines, props, and major components as required; assist with STC installations, aircraft modifications, and compliance with service bulletins and ADs.
- Collaborate with pilots, maintenance planners, and inspectors to ensure aircraft readiness; maintain a clean and organized work area with tools and equipment properly cared for.
- Use sound judgment and technical aptitude to make good decisions regarding job sequence, troubleshooting techniques, and discrepancy resolution.
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
- FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) preferred; Airframe and Powerplant License a plus
- 5+ years Avionics / Aircraft Electronics Maintenance Experience
- Valid Driver’s License and Passport
- Ability to Pass a DOT drug screening
- Ability to travel for extended periods of time
- Ability to be insured on company vehicles
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. FAR’s
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to work under no supervision and under high pressure
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Tools REQUIRED
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
