Job Description
Bookkeeper supporting daily maintenance of clients' accounting records for US businesses. Ideal for someone detail-oriented with accounting experience, working remotely from El Salvador.
Responsibilities:
- Categorize daily accounting transactions using QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Hubdoc (or similar tools)
- Enter and manage vendor bills, ensuring proper project allocation and documentation
- Prepare draft client invoices for review and approval by the Accounting Manager
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts regularly
- Follow up with clients regarding accounting transactions, project updates, and missing documentation (bank statements, loan statements, etc.)
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client project lists
- Communicate with clients’ vendors to request W-9s and obtain missing bills
- Support clean, organized accounting records to facilitate monthly reviews and strategy sessions
Requirements:
- Formal accounting education preferred (Bachelor’s degree a plus, but not required)
- Strong understanding of debits and credits and core accounting principles
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Experience using Hubdoc or Dext (or similar document management tools)
- Familiarity with Gusto and Google Workspace
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records
- Reliable, high-speed internet connection and a distraction-free remote work environment
- Ability to work during standard business hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CT or ET, Monday–Friday), with flexibility provided
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service-oriented mindset
