Job Description
Business Unit Finance Leader at Merative driving financial performance, planning, and analysis. Collaborating with senior leadership on financial objectives and innovative technology solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Play a crucial role in driving the financial performance, planning, analysis, and execution of a business unit at Merative
- Responsible for various financial forecasting, budgeting, operational and strategic tasks
- Work alongside senior leadership in driving the execution of deliverables to achieve financial objectives
- Lead the business unit’s long-term financial strategy and initiatives
- Lead P&L performance including annual budgeting, monthly close cycle, monthly forecasting, monthly variance analysis, ARR analysis, and ad hoc requests
- Make data driven recommendations to senior management based on performance trends, projections, and knowledge of business
- Produce and communicate the monthly, quarterly, and operational reporting including key metrics, financial results, and variance analysis
- Partner with senior leadership team, including go to market and product management organizations to achieve financial targets
- Master the key drivers and inputs to the performance of the business including creating pricing cases and recommendations
- Lead annual budget and quarterly forecast processes around SaaS and Professional Services revenue performance
- Leverage Merative’s internal technology stack for continuous automation and improvement for data insights
- Review purchase orders and headcount requests that align to future performance goals
- Create ad hoc analysis as needed for the business unit including potential M&A activity
Requirements:
- 10+ years of related experience in FP&A, experience in business unit leadership a plus
- Experience supporting a Software as a Services (SaaS) organization required
- Ability to work and collaborate confidently with fast paced teams in a remote environment
- Clear, concise, and detailed communication skills including presenting to the business unit
- Excellent attention to detail as well as analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modeling
- Proficient in tools such as Oracle ERP / EPM (Cloud Fusion) and Salesforce a plus but not required
- Experience in clinical data management, contract research organizations (CRO), pharmaceutical, or life sciences markets a plus
- Experience in private equity backed companies a plus
- Occasional travel for in-person team meetings (up to 20%)
