Job Description

Senior Financial Analyst supporting growth for Valsoft’s software portfolio. Focused on financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic insights to guide decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and review of financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets for each division.
  • Ensure all financial information is accurate, consistent, and compliant with accounting standards and applicable regulations.
  • Participate in audit engagements and compliance requirements, including the transition to IFRS standards.
  • Month-end journal entries and allocations: includes general ledger reconciliations, recording journal entries, and allocating payroll and costs by department.
  • Accruals and provisions: manage accruals related to bonuses/commissions and AFDA provisions for doubtful accounts.
  • Payroll and tax filings: prepare payroll reports and tax/transfer pricing entries.
  • Financial reconciliations: finalize monthly entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank statements.
  • Income statement analysis and financial statement preparation: analyze the income statement and prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement).
  • Management review and process improvement: review results with controller feedback, improve processes and document financial procedures.
  • Perform in-depth financial analysis, comparing actual results to budgeted figures and providing variance analysis.
  • Identify financial trends, opportunities, and potential risks to enable management to make informed decisions to improve divisional performance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in an accounting or finance-related role.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP (transactional and reporting modules) is considered an asset.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and proven data analysis skills (e.g., pivot tables, Power Query, data visualization).
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential.
