Job Description
Join Hitachi Energy as a Category Manager to lead sourcing strategies and supplier partnerships. Drive improvements in cost and quality across material categories in a global environment.
Responsibilities:
- You will join our sourcing team as a Category Manager with responsibility for a defined group of material categories.
- You will drive strategy, supplier performance and long-term improvements across five subcategories: Coatings, Fasteners, Gaskets, Crimp and Clamp Connectors, and Rubber Parts.
- You will work with colleagues across engineering, operations, quality and procurement to align decisions with our long-term business goals.
- You will shape category strategy and build strong supplier partnerships.
- You will work with global teams and regional stakeholders to support sustainable improvements in cost, quality, delivery and reliability.
- You will also help standardize materials and processes across our footprint.
- This role gives you the chance to lead complex sourcing work and influence how we manage your subcategories across the region.
- You will take ownership of decisions, guide colleagues involved in category work and play a key part in improving our processes.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in category management, sourcing, procurement or a related field.
- You can develop and implement sourcing strategies across multiple suppliers.
- You bring solid negotiation skills and experience with supplier agreements.
- You have experience leading complex sourcing initiatives.
- You collaborate well with cross-functional teams.
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- You analyze data and translate findings into sourcing actions.
- You work independently and take ownership of decisions.
- You are fluent in English.
