Job Description

Sales Manager responsible for building customer relationships for coatings and adhesives in Austria and Eastern Europe. Focused on technical understanding and project qualification for chemical additives.

Responsibilities:

  • Development and expansion of the business in Austria and Eastern Europe through acquisition of new customers and maintenance of existing relationships.
  • Conduct technical sales discussions (Tech Talks) to identify customer requirements and position our Coatings, Construction and Adhesives (CCA) portfolio.
  • Translate customer requirements into qualified projects and technical application studies.
  • Build and actively manage a CRM-supported sales pipeline.
  • Increase project-to-order conversion through disciplined opportunity management.
  • Regular customer visits and virtual meetings, including preparation of visit reports and maintenance of up-to-date CRM data.
  • Close cooperation with application technology, product management, supply chain and R&D.

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or a comparable natural science.
  • Alternatively, a recognized further qualification as a state-certified technician (m/f/d) in Paint and Coating Technology.
  • At least 3 years of experience in sales or in closely related functions (marketing, product management).
  • Experience in at least one of the following market segments: paints and coatings, construction chemicals, printing inks, adhesives.
  • Practical experience marketing technical products, including conducting customer training on correct application.
  • Friendly and committed communication style, with negotiation skills across different hierarchy levels.
  • Business-fluent English; knowledge of an Eastern European language is an advantage.
  • Structured, self-motivated way of working with strong teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to travel > 50%, including multi-day international trips and regular visits to our headquarters in Abstatt.
