Job Description

Chief Financial Officer leading financial strategy, operations, and growth at Benesch, a planning, engineering, and professional services firm. Overseeing finance, accounting, reporting, risk, and strategic investments.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall financial strategy and fiscal management of the organization
  • Partner with the CEO, executive leadership, Board members, and operational leaders on financial strategy, performance, and business decisions
  • Direct financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and analysis across the organization
  • Provide financial and operational performance reporting to leadership and shareholders
  • Evaluate business performance and provide actionable financial insights for strategic and operational decisions
  • Oversee cash flow, borrowing, capital management, overhead, and financial risk
  • Monitor regulatory, economic, and industry developments affecting the organization
  • Provide financial leadership in evaluating investments, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic opportunities
  • Lead, develop, and oversee the finance and accounting organization
  • Partner across the business to support organizational growth, operational performance, and long-term financial objectives
  • Participate in the Corporate Management Team in establishing organizational strategy and evaluating performance against objectives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • Executive-level experience leading finance and accounting functions within a complex organization
  • Advanced knowledge of financial management, business fundamentals, forecasting, financial analysis, and organizational performance
  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect financial strategy to broader organizational goals
  • Demonstrated experience advising executive leadership and influencing strategic business decisions
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate high-performing professional teams
  • Strong strategic thinking, judgment, and decision-making capabilities
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and executive communication skills
  • Active participation in relevant professional organizations and continued professional development encouraged
