Job Description
Claims Intake Associate handling inbound and outbound commercial insurance claims for biBerk, a Berkshire Hathaway company. Recording claims, researching information, and supporting policyholders and claim partners.
Responsibilities:
- Answer calls in a timely, positive manner and provide exceptional customer service
- Receive inbound calls from claimants, attorneys, vendors, brokers, Third Party Administrators, and agents regarding claims
- Make outbound calls to policyholders, claimants, and adjustors to obtain additional claim-submission information
- Receive and record potential claims by phone and email
- Research requested information and provide accurate, detailed responses based on protocol
- Complete call notes and reports and update Claims’ Systems with comments, inquiries, complaints, and actions taken
- Route calls to team members and departments when necessary
- Escalate customer concerns as needed
- Work the available 8:00 AM–4:30 PM CST shift
Requirements:
- General understanding of insurance coverage, including claimant and type of claim
- Detail-oriented, with careful attention to spelling, punctuation, grammar, and information
- Compassionate, patient, and professional
- Basic computer knowledge, including using multiple screens and systems
- Flexible and open to change
- Excellent research and interpersonal skills
- Experience in customer service
