Job Description
Corporate Counsel focusing on advertising and regulatory compliance for consumer products at Blueprint. Advising on legal issues in dietary supplements, nutrition, and cosmetics sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day legal guidance on advertising and marketing claims across digital, social, packaging, and retail channels
- Review and clear product claims, including structure function, comparative, and performance claims
- Advise on substantiation standards and consumer protection risk
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and guidelines, including FDA and FTC requirements
- Provide guidance on influencer marketing, endorsements, disclosures, and native advertising
- Monitor and advise on developments from the National Advertising Division and other self-regulatory bodies
- Partner with marketing, product, and regulatory teams to develop compliant and effective campaigns
- Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, including manufacturing and supply agreements, master services agreements and statements of work, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, and vendor, distribution, and partnership agreements
- Advise on risk allocation, indemnity, insurance, and liability provisions
- Support cross-functional teams in structuring and executing strategic commercial relationships
- Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to internal stakeholders
- Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks across the product lifecycle
- Support responses to regulatory inquiries or challenges, including FTC and NAD matters
- Assist in developing internal policies, playbooks, and training related to advertising and compliance
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active bar membership
- Five to seven years of relevant legal experience
- Experience at a consumer brand in dietary supplements, nutrition, cosmetics, or broader CPG strongly preferred, though law firm experience in this field will be considered
- Deep knowledge of FDA and FTC regulatory frameworks applicable to supplements, cosmetics, and consumer health products
- Familiarity with NAD, BBB National Programs, and other advertising self-regulatory bodies
- Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, particularly in manufacturing and supply chain contexts
- Experience advising on advertising claims, substantiation, and marketing risk
Benefits:
- Salary range: $160-225k + equity + benefits
