Job Description

Creative & Brand Manager leading visual and emotional brand expression at Makeship. Collaborating with teams for impactful storytelling across marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities:

  • Own creative and brand direction day to day, with clear alignment to leadership priorities.
  • Ensure brand expression is consistent, intentional, and recognizable across visuals, tone, and storytelling.
  • Guide the rollout and ongoing application of our rebrand across the business.
  • Partner with Growth to bring campaigns, tentpoles, and moments to life through strong creative narratives.
  • Translate business goals and moments into compelling brand expression across the full marketing stack.
  • Lead and develop a team of designers, with a strong focus on craft, taste, and storytelling quality.
  • Set and uphold a high creative quality bar, and actively coach the team toward stronger taste, storytelling, and execution over time.
  • Apply and evolve existing creative workflows, including briefing, reviews, and feedback loops.
  • Collaborate closely with Growth and Digital Marketing to ensure brand and performance function as one system.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in brand, creative, or marketing roles, with demonstrated leadership responsibility.
  • Proven ability to set and uphold a strong creative and brand quality bar.
  • Experience managing and developing designers with a craft-first mindset.
  • Strong storytelling instincts across both visual and verbal expression.
  • Confidence making creative decisions and providing clear, constructive feedback.
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally with Growth and Digital teams.
  • A nuanced understanding of how brand and performance should work together.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and evolving priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong foundation in brand systems, creative direction, and visual storytelling.
  • Experience working with designers across tools like Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Comfort reviewing work across paid media, email, web, and social channels.
  • Familiarity using performance insights to inform creative decisions.
  • Clear communication, critique, and coaching skills.
