Job Description

Demand and supply team leader optimizing clinical trial inventory, forecasting, and logistics for Thermo Fisher Scientific. Leading global planning teams supporting pharmaceutical and biotech customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team providing specialized technical services to clients through enhanced service offerings
  • Create and maintain global demand and supply plans and balance drug inventories using forecasts, patient enrollment data and trends, planning software, and network capacity/utilization data
  • Confirm plan robustness and optimize global and regional supply strategies to ensure continuity of patient supply
  • Connect demand planning with S&OP and integrate updated forecast information into the divisional S&OP process
  • Develop, implement, and monitor performance metrics/KPIs for cycle time, cost, quality, and risk mitigation
  • Partner with global and site project management teams and customers to share client data supporting supply chain planning
  • Apply advanced supply chain concepts to align strategies with clinical studies and related factors
  • Lead continuous process improvement initiatives
  • Act as a subject matter expert and participate in initiatives supporting Client Services effectiveness
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business/operations management
  • 5 years of supply chain and/or planning experience managing global supply chain design and logistics management
  • 3 years' experience with direct customer engagement in a customer-facing role
  • 3 years of management experience
  • Understanding of clinical supply requirements, phases of clinical development, and factors influencing study designs preferred
  • Strong understanding of the manufacturing process and how cost impacts the overall business
  • Enhanced PC knowledge and skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Interpersonal social skills and ability to lead and work in teams including client services, technical, planning, and financial expertise
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel, perhaps as much as 10–15%; international travel may be required
