Job Description
Director of Product leading strategy and delivery for cloud-based evidence-management software. Managing Engineering and QA while building a scalable product function for public safety teams.
Responsibilities:
- Own and articulate the product vision, strategy, and multi-phase roadmap
- Lead the full product lifecycle from discovery and validation through delivery, launch, and iteration
- Establish a user- and data-informed product operating model and structured prioritization
- Serve as the primary voice of the customer through user research and feedback
- Run product discovery and customer interviews
- Define problems, outcomes, success metrics, product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Manage the product backlog and prioritization
- Analyze product usage, feedback, and KPIs to inform roadmap decisions and measure impact
- Establish product processes, tools, and documentation
- Directly manage Engineering and QA teams
- Align product priorities with engineering execution, delivery planning, quality standards, release readiness, capacity, and dependencies
- Own accountability for product outcomes across Product, Engineering, and QA
- Bridge Product, Engineering, QA, Sales, Customer Success, and Support
- Partner with Marketing and Sales on launches, positioning, and go-to-market readiness
- Communicate product direction, trade-offs, and progress to executives and stakeholders
- Build the foundation for a scalable product organization, including roles, processes, and career paths
- Mentor engineering leadership and contribute to collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement
- Help define when and how the product team expands
Requirements:
- 3–6+ years of experience in Product Management, ideally in a B2B SaaS environment
- Demonstrated experience owning product strategy and execution end to end
- Strong track record working closely with Engineering teams in an Agile environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in remote or async settings
- High degree of ownership, autonomy, and comfort operating in ambiguity
- Proven ability to lead product discovery and speak directly with users regularly
- Experience with Jira, Linear, Trello, Notion, or similar product and delivery tools
- Ability to use qualitative and quantitative data to drive prioritization and decisions
- Passion for meaningful, mission-driven products
- Experience in GovTech, Public Safety, compliance-heavy, or regulated domains preferred
- Familiarity with CJIS or similar regulatory environments preferred
- Exposure to evidence management, records systems, or justice-related workflows preferred
- Experience with Productboard, Canny, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar platforms preferred
- Prior experience mentoring engineering leaders or influencing delivery at the organizational level preferred
