Job Description
Director of Project Controls building standardized cost, schedule, risk, and change controls. Supporting Riot Platforms’ digital infrastructure and construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Build and manage the controls process, including standards, processes, and tools for cost, schedule, change management, and risk
- Build the construction controls framework around a standard work breakdown structure and cost coding
- Design and lead the end-to-end change management process
- Create a risk management process that identifies and tracks project risks and ties contingency to them
- Establish purchase order and commitment tracking with Procurement
- Lead budgeting, cost forecasting, and monthly reporting
- Develop an executive dashboard for leadership
- Set scheduling standards and monitor the critical path and long-lead equipment
- Select and implement controls tools connected to finance and project management systems
- Build and lead the controls team
- Set standards for third-party schedulers and cost managers
- Manage and support onsite control managers who execute and utilize the controls system
Requirements:
- 10+ years in project controls on large capital construction projects
- 5+ years in a leadership role
- Track record of building a controls function or system, not only running an existing one
- Owner-side or owner's-representative experience on data center, mission-critical, power, or heavy industrial projects
- Strong command of WBS and cost coding, scheduling, change management, risk management, and forecasting
- Primavera P6 experience
- Ability to turn project controls data into clear recommendations for executives and finance
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, finance, or a related field
